Dr. Diogo Gonçalves Freitas is a neurosurgeon with more than 15 years of experience in the treatment of conditions affecting the central nervous system and spine.

He earned his Medical Degree from Universidade do Grande Rio and completed his Neurosurgery residency at Hospital Municipal Miguel Couto in Rio de Janeiro. He later completed a fellowship in Neurointervention and Interventional Neuroradiology at Hospital Santa Teresa, as well as a Research Fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic Florida in the United States.

His practice focuses on the surgical and minimally invasive treatment of brain aneurysms, stroke, vascular malformations, intracranial hemorrhages and other complex neurological conditions. He also performs surgical treatment for spinal disorders and tumors of the central nervous system.

He currently coordinates Neurosurgery and Interventional Neuroradiology services at leading healthcare institutions in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
